Notes for week starting 6th September

S1 – We will start our class novel on Tuesday – Alone on a wide, wide sea by Michael Morpurgo. A fascinating historical tale set after World War 2 and in the present day. Very exciting in parts and thought provoking in others. Mostly set in Australia and outer space!

S2 – finish genre projects – the video camera, digital camera, webcam and notebook will be available for those who need it. Talks on Friday are by Emma, Alex, Lee, Nathan and Jodi. Please ensure you practice beforehand 8-)

S3 – drafting our CEL for Brown Paper Carrier Bag in the classroom then into A4 Tue/Wed to type up for assessment by peers and Mr T using Standard Grade criteria. Note the resources for BPCB are now under the S3 menu bar. Friday weekly world/UK news review is by Andrew and Mac. Not just football stories please

S4 – how quiet is it going to be with half of you on work experience 8-) The rest are in the Stockade all week with Mr T and Miss M updating and sorting your folio reading pieces. Lots of effort now will save you so much time in the New Year!

S5/6 – Close reading – the Higher 2010 paper – finish off and mark. Tuesday’s creative writing will look at plot development and design. Textual analysis homework due in Wednesday Period 2. Do not forget it please. The Conegatherers lessons will look at plot in detail.
